Heart-Pounding Suspense
When secrets arise from the long-buried past, Hostile Intent immerses readers in an intense struggle to stop a serial killer and find the truth before it’s too late.
Lynette Eason does it again! With this 4th novel in the Danger Never Sleeps series, she delivers the perfect mixture of intensity, romance, mystery and intrigue in her new release, Hostile Intent from Revell.
Secrets are about to be revealed . . . but will the guilty be brought to justice?
Ava Jackson entered the military shortly after high school, but her mother's illness has forced her to request an early discharge. She already lost her father while deployed, and there's no way she's going to let her mother die alone. But after a visit to the nursing facility where her mother lives, Ava is attacked walking back to her car. Fortunately, FBI Special Agent Caden Denning arrives in time to help fight off her attacker.
Caden reveals to Ava that she may hold the key to the murders of three families, and he needs her help before anyone else is harmed. The hits show a pattern, and clearly the killer has an agenda. But if Caden and Ava can't discover what it is, Ava may be next on the hit list.
★★★★★ | Author Lynette Eason once again captured my attention and intrigued me with her fourth installment of the Danger Never Sleeps series, Hostile Intent. This refreshing series features heroines with military backgrounds and unique skill sets which I find both fascinating and enjoyable.
In Hostile Intent, the most recent release of the series, Eason delivers a suspenseful story interlaced with the perfect amount of intensity, romance, mystery and dramatic events. This fast-paced read kept me devouring the pages with the heart-pounding turn of events.
The main characters, former Navy analyst Ava Jackson and FBI Special Agent Caden Denning, both face ordinary interpersonal struggles making them relatable and believable. Ava surprised me with her hidden talents and cunning skills. Caden was both strong and supportive in his role in Ava’s life and it was sweet how he stepped into the role of her protector. I enjoyed seeing the childhood friendship between these two grow, change and blossom into a new romance.
There were beautifully woven threads of faith, friendship, and family throughout the book, carefully and intentionally balanced with horror, mystery and riveting, dramatic events.
Overall, this was an excellent romantic suspense story that kept me interested, intrigued and enthralled. I found Hostile Intent to be a satisfying story that fit this genre very well, having all the earmarks of a great suspense novel. I believe this story is appropriate for mature readers 16+ and is clean.
Please Note: This story, while delicately shared and without too much detail, does include the murder of children and inclinations towards human torture.
