About This Book:

As Cressida uncovers more about the ship, she quickly realizes that her research has placed her in the crosshairs of dangerous forces.
County detective Braden Sanders is in Hidden Bay for one reason--to get his niece lifesaving medical treatment. To do that, he is assigned to protect Cressida from a revenge-driven enemy. Together, Braden and Cressida dig deeper to discern the myth from the facts surrounding the Specter's Bounty.
But more is brewing under the surface than they could ever imagine. Entangled in secrets, they must unravel the past before the current sweeps away their future.

MY REVIEW: ★★★★ 4/5
A fascinating thriller and a strong addition to the Hidden Bay series! From the start, Deadly Currents pulled me into heart-pounding action, unexpected secrets, twists, turns and the eerie mystery surrounding an abandoned, floating "ghost" ship. It’s the kind of story that hooks you and doesn’t let go and I'd expect nothing less from author Elizabeth Goddard.
I enjoyed the main characters, Cressida and Dane. Cressida’s determination and curiosity, especially as she searches for answers tied to her late father’s manuscript, made her relatable. And Detective Braden Sanders? He’s the kind of hero I love: protective, a little guarded, with just enough edge and mystery to keep him interesting. It was also fun to catch glimpses of familiar faces from earlier books in the series.
While light on romance, what made this story stand out was the way Goddard blended history with a present-day mystery, creating a dangerous, suspenseful hunt for the truth that felt both unique and immersive. Set against the moody, atmospheric backdrop of the Pacific Northwest coast, the entire story had a haunting, almost cinematic feel that I thoroughly enjoyed.
If you enjoy character-driven suspense with twists, a touch of history, and a setting that practically becomes its own character, Deadly Currents is definitely worth picking up.
