About This Book:
She's finally exactly where she wants to be.
Unfortunately, she's also in the crosshairs of a killer.
After years of training, tough-as-nails Kenzie King has earned her place as a tactical medic on a SWAT team. But not everyone on the all-male team accepts her. Rumor is, she got the position not because of what she could do but because of who she knew. Which means she has to work harder and longer than anyone else to prove herself.
Cole Garrison is a man with deep faith who is finally ready to settle down and build a family of his own--if he can find the right person, that is. Kenzie sure has set off his interest meter, but trouble seems to follow in her wake. Since she joined the team, someone has begun to ambush and pick off team members one by one.
It's all hands on deck to discover the culprit and end the killing. Can Kenzie and Cole put aside their differences and work together as a team? Or will their budding attraction be snuffed out by a sniper's bullet?
"Target Acquired grabs hold with nonstop action and doesn't let go."--Dani Pettrey, bestselling author of One Wrong Move
MY REVIEW: ★★★★ 4/5
Lately, I’ve been noticing a trend in the Christian fiction world. Maybe you’ve noticed it, too? Shorter, fast-paced, easily-consumable books that are riveting, feature strong heroines and a hint of a love story. And I am here for it!
Author Lynette Eason nailed this new trend with her action-packed new release featuring a female SWAT medic and a killer on the loose. I devoured this book in a short time and loved every minute of it!
WHAT I LIKED:
The Blue Ridge Mountain Setting
Historic Fiction Meets Romantic Suspsense!
A capable, fiercely independent female lead
Friendship, camaraderie and teammates
From the high-stakes, present-day beginning to the haunting 1940’s flashbacks, I enjoyed the unique blend of suspenseful timelines that Eason used to create this story.
I adored main character, Kenzie King, as a SWAT medic and felt her struggles as a female in a predominantly male role were authentic. I loved her perseverance and grit, making the slow warming of her teammates that much more rewarding over time.
The suspense and action remained strong throughout this story keeping me thoroughly invested. There were twists and turns that kept me guessing and I enjoyed the deep friendships and growing bonds between the characters. I also loved how the team came together for the young man and his family in the story. With a good dose of faith, a hint of romance and several heart-pounding moments, Eason expertly delivered a binge-worthy story, making Target Acquired a great weekend read!
