ABOUT THIS BOOK:
Breathe in fresh, country air and dream of a slower, simpler, sweeter life in this poetic story about building a homestead with heart from bestselling novelist Melissa Ferguson.
One day Papa burst into the kitchen with a wild idea. What if the family moved to the country? What if they built their very own farmhouse between sleeping strawberry fields and the misty Appalachian Mountains? Join a little boy and his adventurous parents and sisters as they chase a dream of open sky, nature to explore, a blooming garden, and lots of animal friends.
My Thoughts:
An Absolute Delight! I’ve long been a fan of Melissa Ferguson’s romcoms and her children's book, Our Friendly Farmhouse, is the sweetest story of a family who asks “what if?” and dares to dream. Their little wish of owning land and building a farmhouse together blossoms into a magical reality, complete with pets, wildflowers and the cozy memories of a home built with love.
The gentle rhythm of the words makes this story a joy to read aloud and the soft, whimsical illustrations capture children, animals and everyday beauty in a way that warms the heart. My daughter and I were caught up in the wonder of this simple yet enchanting story that celebrates family, imagination, and the joy of dreaming together.
If you’re looking for a book that will inspire your little ones to imagine, believe and dream big dreams, this darling treasure belongs on your shelf.
