CIA analyst Brynn Taylor developed a new program to combat terrorism, and she invited members of foreign intelligence agencies to America to foster cooperation between countries. Now one of them, Egyptian spy Remon Riad, is missing.
Jack Hudson has been working for the Strategic Neutralization and Protection Agency for almost nine years and takes the lead in hunting down the missing spy. But he isn't at all pleased to find out Brynn is involved. It's hard to trust a woman who's already betrayed you.
Every lead they follow draws them dangerously deeper into an international plot. Kidnapping, murder, explosions, poisoning--the terrorists will do anything to accomplish their goal of causing a digital blackout that will blind a strategic US military communications center and throw the world into chaos.
Can Brynn surrender control to a man who doesn't trust her? And can Jack ever get over what she did to him? The fate of the world--and their hearts--hangs in the balance.

As CIA Analyst, Brynn Taylor, finds out that an Egyptian spy is missing from her recently developed counter terrorism conference, her career suddenly comes under fire. As if that wasn’t bad enough, she is paired with her ex-boyfriend, Jack Hudson, and his team of highly skilled contractors to track down the missing spy. While tensions over an unresolved history between Jack and Brynn mounts, they focus on an intense, complex investigation that leads to discovering the country, and perhaps the world, is in dire peril.
Walters enraptured me with her deeply complex plot that kept the intensity high and the romance sizzling.

I particularly enjoyed the premise behind this story. It had an inter-agency-style appeal with that creatively and dramatically used the catalysts of spies, human trafficking, cyber-terrorism, and the Unites States military to pit good against evil. Walters’ military background is evident in her writing and I loved how she pulled so many different aspects together to create a strong team of people working together to thwart the evil at hand. She gives just enough insight into the villainous side of the story to keep it interesting, yet not give too much away as her plot thickens and secrets are revealed. The suspense kept me on edge and deeply engrossed in the story.
Walters’ SNAP Agency team is one I can’t wait to read more about!
The SNAP Team is a diverse, intriguing group of characters that work together to neutralize threats, adding a sense of heroism to this story. In addition to the highly skilled cast of characters, Walters introduced a second-chance romance for Brynn and Jack. Their internal struggles and inner dialogue allows readers into their hearts and minds, making them relatable and enjoyable. As the characters surrender to personal growth, the romance deepens and blossoms. Walters’ characters were grounded in their faith offering a subtle but strong faith-based element to her fiction that I also enjoyed.
Overall, an exciting novel that I definitely recommend! Readers who enjoy books by Ronie Kendig, Lynette Eason and Susan May Warren will definitely enjoy this novel as well.
