Heart-pounding missions to stop the activation of a super army with deadly intent leads this team of intelligent, special forces operators on the quest of a lifetime.
Kings Falling demands your attention and will not allow you to put it down.
As the search for the Book of Wars continues, Leif Metcalfe and his team, Reaper, will stop at nothing to keep the Neiothen from activating and destroying the world! Award-winning, best-selling author, Ronie Kendig, is back with another heart-stopping novel that will keep you simultaneously on the edge of your seat and turning the pages as fast as you can.
Leif Metcalfe and his team, dubbed Reaper, need to recover the stolen, ancient Book of the Wars if they hope to stop the Armageddon Coalition and their pursuit of global economic control. But their attention has been diverted by a prophecy in the book that foretells of formidable guardians who will decimate the enemies of ArC. While Iskra Todorova uses her connections in the covert underworld to hunt down the Book of the Wars, Leif and Reaper attempt to neutralize these agents but quickly find themselves outmaneuvered and outgunned.
The more Reaper tries to stop the guardians, the more failure becomes a familiar, antagonistic foe. Friendships are fractured, and the team battles to hold it together long enough to defeat ArC. But as this millennia-old conspiracy creeps closer and closer to home, the implications could tear Leif and the team apart. - Synopsis from Kings Falling
★★★★★ | What is there to say about a novel that one finds simply excellent all the way around? Since reading Storm Rising, book one in the Book of Wars series last summer, I’ve racked time with ten other Kendig novels. Her masterfully created paramilitary stories are fascinating, captivating and heartwarming. Upon the release of her newest book, Kings Falling, book two in the Book of Wars series (releasing March 31, 2020!) I’m here to encourage readers to run and grab a copy of this book for themselves!
It is no wonder that Ronie Kendig is a best-selling, award winning author. The diverse, heroic male and female characters she created for the Reaper team are people we, as readers, connect with, admire and adore. To find them back together again to continue where Storm Rising left off, hunting down the Book of Wars while decoding the bits and pieces of intel they gathered from the book that was thought to be lost in Biblical times is thrilling and readers can be assured danger is just around the corner!
Kendig lays out yet another gripping storyline with fast-paced action and daring maneuvers. Her military jargon and realistic unfolding of events demonstrates her knowledge and excites readers with fiction that is unlike any other. She delivers authentic characters with relatable fears, joys and struggles as well as deepening romantic relationships among the team. The twist, and added benefit, of an imaginative, spell-binding supernatural element is just icing on the proverbial cake.
I highly encourage readers to read Storm Rising first. Kings Falling picks up where Storm Rising left off and will continue with a third story, Soul Raging, slated to arrive in fall of 2020. In comparison to Storm Rising, this newest novel didn’t have quite as much action but the camaraderie, intensity and banter among these friends and teammates was the same enjoyable experience!
Kendig’s books are more edgy that most Christian fiction but are “clean”. Her books do contain military tactics and are mildly graphic and do contain an element of gore. I recommend her books for adults and mature teens 16+.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Ronie Kendig is an Army brat who grew up in the classic military family, with her father often TDY and her mother holding down the proverbial fort. Their family moved often, which left Ronie attending six schools by the time she’d entered fourth grade. Her only respite and “friends” during this time were the characters she created.
It was no surprise when she married a military veteran—her real-life hero—in June 1990. Married more than twenty-five years, Ronie and her husband have homeschooled for the last eighteen years. Despite the craziness of life, Ronie finds balance and peace with her faith, family, and retired military working dog in Northern Virginia.
Ronie has a deep love and passion for people, especially hurting people, which is why she pursued and obtained a B.S. in Psychology from Liberty University. Ronie speaks and teaches across the country and mentors other writers.
