2015 December Daily® Days 2 - 8 | A Holiday Memory Keeping Project
Only 8 more days until Christmas! I am so very excited!
This week I finished up the last of my Christmas to-do list and I've been able to relax and enjoy the season. Gifts are bought and wrapped, cards are mailed, the Christmas eve dinner is planned, cookies are made (and may not last until Christmas!), and we have both arranged for Christmas Eve off work.
We have plans this coming weekend to tour the Speedway in Lights, and last weekend we enjoyed the Living Christmas tree production at our church which is part of annual holiday tradition. I've been able to snap photos along the way and create stories about our favorite parts of the season, all thanks to my commitment to December Daily. I am SO very appreciative of Ali Edwards and her inspiration for this project.
"December Daily® is a December mini-album project created by Ali Edwards that documents the 25 days leading up to Christmas. The simple goal is to capture the spirit of December via one story per day." Click here to visit Ali's website for more information and to find her awesome products.

This week, I had more free time to create in my album and I'm up to day 8 now! I know days 9-18 will go quickly for me because I can feel myself getting into a groove with the album now.
A few things happened for me while working on my album this week... First, I found that some of the colors I had originally chosen weren't working well with my photos. It's Christmastime after all, and all of my photos had pops of red in them. So, instead of the light pink I had originally chosen for my album, I've incorporated red. I like it. I feel as if I'm jumping on the proverbial bandwagon, but that suits me ok!
Secondly, I had to take some of my pages out of the album. First, the color scheme was different than the rest of my album and second, my poor album was already getting too fat and there was NO WAY all 25 days would fit in it! So I moved some things out and into my Jun-Nov. 6x8 binder.
The last two pages above, I totally stole that layout idea from my good friend Elise at Feed Your Craft. I LOVED these pages she shared on Instagram and wanted to recreate the same for my album.
Lastly, since incorporating the red into some of these recent pages, I felt it would be a good idea to work backwards and incorporate it into the beginning of the album too. Call me strange or obsessive, but I had to do it. And I'm glad I did because now my album has a more cohesive appearance.
How is your album coming along? I'd love to hear about it. I've been following many of you via Bloglovin' and social media and I thank you all for the encouragement and inspiration!
