Get ready for the most exhilarating adventure of the summer!

Susan May Warren’s newest release, The Heart of a Hero, the second book in her Global Search and Rescue series, has just hit the shelves and is already making a hurricane force impact! With surprises at every turn, Warren captivates her readers yet again with her dynamic, heroic characters and a plot that keeps readers devouring the pages while eagerly anticipating the next book in this incredibly fascinating series!

Jake Silver may not be able to put the memories of his time as a sniper and Navy SEAL behind him, but at least he can put his skills to use as a part of the Jones Inc. rescue team. Saving the life of pediatric heart surgeon Dr. Aria Sinclair on Denali helped too. Now he can't get her out of his head, and when he hears she is in the path of a hurricane down in Key West he can't help but jump on a plane to rescue her.

Aria has dedicated her life to helping children born with defective hearts. After all, she was one of those children. Now driven to succeed, she lives a lonely, stressful life. One she would have lost on Denali if it hadn't been for Jake. Jake is exciting and handsome, but he's also dangerous, and she's already lost one person she loves. She can't bear it again.

It's not until she finds herself trapped in the middle of a category 4 hurricane that she can admit she needs Jake desperately. With their very survival in the balance, can they hope for a second chance at life . . . and love?

★★★★★  | This exhilarating new story features former Navy SEAL, Jake Silver, and pediatric heart surgeon, Dr. Aria Sinclair, characters we met and fell in love with in The Way of the Brave, book one. Of the characters in this series, I loved Jake and Aria the most, their personalities drawing me in with a magnetic pull. We left them in quite the predicament in book one and this story picks up right where that one left off. As Jake and Aria battle through their shortcomings, emotions and a Cat 5 hurricane in the Florida Keys, they lean on each other and overcome another adventure of a lifetime.

The Heart of a Hero is exactly what I hoped for, and more. I thoroughly enjoyed the setting of the Florida Keys and the nautical aspect Warren gives this story. She delights readers with twists and turns, surprises and moments that leave readers breathless. As always with her stories, I wasn’t able to put this book down. I found it more favorable than the first book in the series and I appreciated the story line and characters.

In my opinion, Warren is a master at mixing adventure, suspense, romance and faith into her books, as was the case with this story. The way she brings a scene to life with passion and heroism is truly a craft she’s honed well, leaving readers breathless and wanting more.

The undeniable connection between the two main characters had me rooting for them from the beginning. I love how they lean on each other when things get tough and I respected the way they each struggled, and eventually allowed, God’s grace into their lives, erasing their burdens and connecting them on an even deeper level. This story is not only exhilarating and riveting, it’s deep and passionate as well. It is very well written, it reads easily and I liked the insight into the characters hearts’ and minds. It also lays the ground work for the next story, enticing readers to come discover Hamilton Jones’ story in the upcoming book, The Price of Valor.

Probably a catharsis for all this unwrapping of his soul, but he leaned in, her touch igniting something inside him he couldn’t douse... Need. Yes, that was the problem. He needed her. She calmed the personal hurricane always swirling inside and made him see parts of himself he didn’t want to look at and somehow made it okay. In fact, he was well on his way to loving her.
