Turquoise Avenue - Weekly Photo & Journal Prompt for Memory Keepers

This week's prompt is hosted by Brenda of Lilly Lane Photo.  I have been following Brenda on Instagram for several months and met her via that social media outlet.  I adore her photos and couldn't think of anyone better to have hosted this prompt.

"This #hashtagthisweek prompt is right up my alley so when Mandy asked me to help highlight it I was just giddy.

Everyday my youngest child and I head outside to play.  Usually she does something fun, silly or just cute and I have to take a photo.  Most of the time I use my camera phone (Iphone 5s) but for this posts photos I took my Nikon DSLR out.  This poor thing has been gathering a bit of dust since we moved.  It was about time to use it.

On this particular evening poor Kaitlyn was not feeling well.  She was pretty upset about not being able to play with her brother, sister and friends.  After she started to cry a little I decided to take her outside.  All the other kids were playing out front so I took her to the back yard.  We usually hang out in the front where she can ride her scooter and run across the street to visit with our neighbor but I wanted to keep her germs away from the neighbors kids this time.  Hanging out in the back was a nice quiet change for both of us.  She discovered all the produce that was starting to grow in the garden, played with her cat and dug in the dirt.  We found some new spiders and bugs to learn about and generally just got dirty.  The best kind of play.  For all that, she felt much better about being left out of the rowdy play in the front yard.  Of course the next day she had to go back out in the morning to explore some more.  It is always good to step out of routine and try something new.  I am so glad that we did."
