This week's theme is My Special Someone. Now, I have several special someone's in my life.... In fact, all my family and friends are special to me in a unique way. I'm the type of person who knows a lot of people but only has a handful of people I hold close. My best friend and my Mom are very close to me... I do plan to take the time to document each of them soon and what makes them to dear to me.
But when it comes to that most special someone, it has to be my husband. I know I brag on him a lot, but I truly believe that God designed him in mind for me. There's no other logical explanation... As a young adult, in and out of relationships, when I met my husband there was something immediately different about him versus the other guys I'd known. He was not just an adorable guy to date, he was a good friend. A true friend. Out of that foundation of friendship, came a strong, vibrant relationship. I can't imagine life without him now. He's truly become my other half.
As result, my special someone is my husband and in this simple, yet colorful layout, I took a few moments to write out a simple journal entry and record seven things that I admire about my husband.
My husband leads our home with such a great, godly example. Sometimes, I'm not even sure he knows he's doing it. His strong suits are my faults.... He never complains, I on the other hand, tend to be a little grouchy sometimes. He's so compassionate about others and his beliefs while I tend to be a little more self centered and hard-hearted. But whenever I feel these faults in myself, I see them shine bright in my husband as a strength so I desire to be like him. He makes me want to become a better person.
So often I'm led to believe that's God's entire design for marriage. In fact, it's His design for the world. Just as I desire to grow as a person because of my husband, so God desires for us to grow as believers because of His Son, Jesus. Its a beautiful comparison and I pray that each and every one of you know the beauty of a strong marriage and a personal relationship with God.
