ABOUT THIS BOOK:

Jesus is like us but also not like us. He is fully man but also fully God. He is ordinary but also the greatest of all time!

Excite kids ages 7+ to connect with Jesus daily through this fun and thoughtful devotional. Kids will encounter familiar teachings in a fresh way, helping them meaningfully engage with the Bible and Jesus.

Each devotion features…

  • a short Bible reading

  • a clear, energetic, interactive devotion that draws them deeper into God's word

  • opportunities to draw or write responses as they notice the Bible story’s details

  • a prayer prompt

This 8-week devotional features five short devotions per week. After each set of five devotions, an interactive recap summarizes the stories and includes application questions.

The perfect next step for kids exiting the Bible-storybook stage, Greatest of All Time will give kids skills for Bible reading. They will get into the habit of spending time connecting with Jesus—and enjoy him more along the way.

My Thoughts:

I chose Greatest of All Time as the devotional for our summer homeschool this year, and after reading through it, I'm so glad I did. I purposely chose a selection from this publisher because our family prefers books that offer a solid evangelical, Christian message, as well as present the plan of salvation, both of which this devotional offers.

Studying the purpose, life and ministry of Jesus, this devotional invites kids to slow down and ponder the extraordinary life of Christ in a way that's engaging, easy to understand, interactive and fun. I love that the devotional encourages kiddos to consider who Jesus is and what He means to them.

My daughter loves adding her own notes, coloring and answers to the book's questions as we go, which helps the lessons stick. The devotional is laid out over eight weeks, but it’s flexible enough to move at our own pace. It works well as something my daughter can do independently, but we prefer to do it together as a family. It would even work well as something children can do with siblings or friends. While designed for elementary-aged kids, this devotional works for a wide range of ages, as even my husband and I have found takeaways from it.

If you’re looking for something faith-centered, interactive, and easy to incorporate into your family rhythm, this is a great choice!
