As many of you know, our little girl was born earlier this year. My journey into motherhood hasn’t been easy, so becoming her mama has been the most beautiful, enriching experience of my life thus far.
Our situation is unique because our little girl came to us through adoption and our family has been blessed with an open relationship with her birth family. Because of this beautiful relationship, I was able to become a mother and am constantly reminded of the power of love over loss. When my heart is so full, I get the impulsive urge to document the here and now because I’m afraid these precious moments will fly by and I’ll forget how I felt the first time I held my daughter or saw her smile. Or how tiny her little toes are and how her smile reminds me of her first mama… Perhaps you can relate?

With my Happy album, I plan to document both the feelings and the photos that melt my heart. Below is a look at my first page that I created while playing on the living room floor with my daughter. I included her sonogram photo, a “Welcome Baby” plaque from my baby shower book and a soft cotton fabric, tucked into an envelope from Kit #4. I used pops of gold foil in my layout and included a paint swatch I’d used when planning her nursery accents. I love how the page came together so beautifully!
Because this album is so versatile and easily portable, I can pack it in my diaper bag and work on it while I’m away from home, in the car or at the coffee shop. I love that I have everything I need in one convenient case!
